This message is on the subject of “Spiritism”; in other words, to be very clear, on the teachings and practices of Spiritists. Now, make the distinction...notice that I did not say “Spiritualists.”

A spiritual man is one who is indwelt and controlled by the Holy Spirit. There is NO OTHER kind. Men may claim to be spiritual, and if they do so without the Holy Spirit of God, then they worship or are indwelt by a demon spirit. ONLY those indwelt and controlled by the Holy Spirit, are truly spiritual. The posers are puppets.

Therefore, a truly spiritual man is one who is indwelt and controlled by the Holy Spirit of God. The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of Truth who has been sent down from Heaven. No man can be spiritual who denies the record that God has given in the Bible concerning His only begotten and well-beloved Son, the LORD Jesus Christ.

The spiritual man is instructed in the Word of God to try the spirits. He believes that all Scripture Is God-breathed; therefore, his first question is, “what saith the Scriptures?”

When men claim to be spiritual and deny the record that God has given in the Bible concerning His only begotten and well-beloved Son, the LORD Jesus Christ, then they are spiritists. These Spiritists are indwelt by the spirit of the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience.

According to the Word of God, the prince of the power of the air, who is also called the prince of this world and the god of this age, is Beelzebub, the prince of the demons. He is also known as Satan, and the Devil, the accuser of the brethren. He is the Member of the Body of Christ’s adversary, and like a roaring lion he walks about seeking whom he may devour.

The member of the Body of Christ is told to resist him steadfast in the Faith. This supernatural one, who is spoken of as the ruler of world darkness in the heavenlies, is accused by God of the crime of deceiving the whole world. Fallen angels, Demons, and evil spirits are under his authority and direction.

The true spiritual man is uncompromisingly and unceasingly against any and all religions that deny the inspiration and absolute authority of the Holy Scriptures, which we call the Bible. The Bible condemns Spiritism.

Spiritism was flourishing on this earth four thousand years ago. The Word of God was against it then just the same as it is at this present time. Ancient Spiritism did not pretend to advocate the worship of the God of the Bible. Modern Spiritism does NOT worship the true God; but it does claim this. And not only so, but it desires to be classified as a Christian Religion. Yeah, how about that.

True Christianity will, of course, stand the test of the Bible; let me make this very clear...the entire Word of God fully endorses True Biblical Christianity, and supports every claim and doctrine of True Christianity.

The spiritual man knows full well that the New Testament Scriptures prophesy that Satan transformed into an angel of light sends forth his messengers, disguised as Christian ministers, trying to deceive religious people and entice them through the preaching of another Jesus and another Gospel into his apostate religious “Christianity”.

God has prophesied that many shall follow the pernicious ways of Satan’s servants, who have gone in the way of Cain, Korah, and Balaam, denying the LORD that bought them. These servants are spoken of as blind leaders of the blind, as false prophets, wolves in sheep’s clothing, deceiving if possible the very elect.

God has likewise told us that in the latter days many shall depart from the Faith and give heed to seducing spirits and doctrines of demons.

He was NOT prophesying concerning the heathen world. He was speaking concerning the great apostasy in what we call “Christendom”, (not to be confused with the Body of Christ). Surely this great apostasy is now sweeping over Christendom with alarming rapidity, and many are being given over to that strong delusion prophesied in the Word of God, that they should believe the lie and be judged.

We further call your attention to this declaration of the Apostle Paul to the religious of Corinth, “I fear lest as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtlety so your minds shall be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.” 2 Cor. 11:3. If Satan, through his subtlety, could beguile that first innocent pair in the Garden of Eden; to be sure he can deceive man in his present fallen state.

God would not have us ignorant of Satan’s devices; but He would have us to put on that spiritual armor that He has provided for His spiritual children that they might stand against the wiles of the Devil. Satan is more than clever. He is ubiquitous, powerful, supernatural. He is directly or indirectly responsible for sin and sickness and sorrow and death, and he achieves much by his counterfeit religion, and then also plays havoc with the Body of Christ by means of Christianized agnosticism.

Now we, here at the Lion and Lamb Ministry, claim that Spiritists have been seduced and or possessed by evil spirits, that the teachings of modern Spiritism, like the teachings of ancient Spiritism, is really the doctrine of demons. We furthermore claim that Spiritism is one of the strong delusions of Satan.

We do not propose to prove our charges by our statements against the statements of the conscientious and sincere Spiritists. But our constant and sole appeal shall be to the Holy Scriptures which are given by inspiration of God and are profitable for doctrine and correction, which Scriptures modern Spiritists claim as their “text-book”.

We would not, for one moment, say that there are not some excellent, brilliant, and very religious men and women in this Satanic cult. However, the Bible is the Member of the Body of Christ’s text book and the true Member of the Body of Christ is against every religious movement that the Bible condemns. Now does the Bible condemn modern Spiritism?

We might speak of it as Christianized Spiritism, because Jesus Christ has been brought into this movement by many of the leaders of today. Now, before we throw on the searchlight of God’s holy Word, let us briefly state what Spiritism teaches. Here we go...

1) Consciousness after death.

2) It is possible for the living to communicate with the dead.

3) That we are surrounded by other intelligences in the unseen world.

4) God is impersonal but is responsible for the creation and the elements of the universe.

5) Man never had a fall. Whatever is, is right. Evil cannot exist. No matter what man’s path may be, good or bad, it is the path of divine ordination and destiny.

6) In the spirit world, souls do wrong as they did here. They reap what they sow, but are gradually purified and blessed. And man is made better in this life by intercourse with spirits.

7) There is no atoning value in the death of Jesus Christ. He was a religious enthusiast, a Jew who came to an untimely death. He was, however, a medium of high order. But the teaching of spirits supersedes and is an advance upon the teachings of Biblical Christianity. Jesus Christ was NOT God, but He is now an advanced spirit in the sixth sphere.

8 ) Hell does not exist and never will. There is no judgment after death. Neither is there any such thing as bodily resurrection.

PHEW!

Now, it is almost inconceivable that any person belonging to a religious organization teaching such doctrines should have ANY desire to be called a disciple of Jesus Christ; or would permit such a religious movement to be called a “Christian” religion. But remember the clever Devil.

There has always been the cry for religious tolerance and we are conscious of the fact that the constitution of this great country, the United States of America, grants to each and every one the perfect right to religious liberty. But remember, that our statement is that the Bible condemns the religion known as Spiritism.

First we quote from Deuteronomy 18:10-12, “There shall not be found among you any one that maketh his son or daughter to pass through the fire, or that useth divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch, or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer. For all that do these things are an abomination unto the LORD: and because of these abominations the LORD thy God doth drive them out from before thee.”

You will notice here in the eleventh verse the word “necromancer” which means “making request of the dead.” Associated with necromancers, in their abominations, were the consulters with familiar spirits, known as mediums, shamans, etc.. A necromancer is a spirit medium. God’s wrath and judgment were against these evil practices which He calls abominations. Now surely, no member of the Body of Christ will want to endorse something that is an abomination in the sight of the Holy God.

“Regard not them that have familiar spirits, neither seek after wizards, to be defiled by them: I am the LORD your God” Leviticus 19:31.

“And the soul that turneth after such as have familiar spirits, and after wizards, to go a whoring after them, I will even set my face against that soul, and will cut him off from among his people”. Leviticus 20:6.

“And the spirit of Egypt shall fail in the midst thereof; and I will destroy the counsel thereof; and they shall seek to the idols, and to the charmers, and to them that have familiar spirits, and to the wizards”. Isaiah 19:3.

“And thou shalt be brought down, and shalt speak out of the ground, and thy voice shall be, as of one that hath a familiar spirit, out of the ground, and thy speech shall whisper out of the dust”. Isaiah 29:4.

“And he made his son pass through the fire, and observed times, and used enchantments, and dealt with familiar spirits and wizards; he wrought much wickedness in the sight of the LORD, to provoke Him to anger”. 2 Kings 21:6.

Now we will especially call your attention to Isaiah 8:19-22. So, first, “Seek unto them that have familiar spirits, and unto wizards that peep and that mutter: Should not a people seek unto their God; for the living to the dead?” Some of the modern Spiritist leaders hold seances in the light, but most of the mediums who seek information of the dead, keep on in the dark.

Then, in Isaiah 8:20, the LORD gives to the member of the Body of Christ the test…“To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them.”

The LORD Jesus Christ is the light of the world, He said to His Disciples, “Ye are the light of the world,” “shining lights in the midst of a wicked and a perverse generation.” He said, “If the light that is in thee be darkness, how GREAT is that darkness;” Surely, no Member of the Body of Christ will say that the Word of God in any way supports Spiritism.

But the question is always asked, “What about Samuel and Saul?”

According to the Bible, Saul certainly did communicate with Samuel after he had died; and certainly Saul reached the dead Samuel through a medium. This was one of the divers ways in times past that God spake unto men. Hebrews 1:1. God certainly spoke to Saul through Samuel.

This is the only time that God ever spoke to any one in just this way. He spoke through the rich man in hades and Lazarus in Abraham’s bosom, after both had died. He has a message for us in this story which we will hear now.

But, ask yourself, who would say that King Saul did a commendable thing when he went to the medium, contrary to God’s word? Surely his disobedience met with God’s disapproval. Just look at the condemnation of God upon Saul’s wicked visit to the witch of Endor:

“So Saul died for his transgression which he committed against the LORD, even against the word of the LORD, which he kept not, and also for asking counsel of one that had a familiar spirit, to enquire of it; And enquired not of the LORD: therefore He slew him” 1 Chronicles 10:13-14.

Now isn’t the absurdity abundantly clear of any one claiming to be a Christian and supporting their evil practice by the experience of a wicked man, Saul, who was slain by God for that experience.

Now, we ask you to turn to 1 Samuel 28 and read God’s record of that experience carefully, beginning with the seventh verse. You will note these outstanding points.

1. Saul disguised himself.

2. He came to the woman by night.

3. When the woman saw Samuel, she cried with a loud voice.

4. The woman saw gods or (God) ascending out of the earth.

5. Saul said to Samuel, “God is departed from me” and answereth me no more.”

6. Samuel said to Saul, “The LORD is become thine enemy.” Thou obeyedst not the voice of the LORD.”

Should Christians disguise themselves and go to a woman witch, or psychic, by night to talk with the dead? If they should be so wicked and immoral as to do such a thing, they ought to disguise themselves and wait for the darkness of midnight; but after they do, they ought to do what Saul did after his evil act...“He fell straightaway all along the earth.” Remember that the Holy Spirit had departed from Saul and he was possessed with an evil spirit at the time of his visit.

The human heart is desperately wicked, an evil heart of unbelief that will not receive God’s revelation. God has clearly answered that old, but ever new question...“Man wasteth away, yea man giveth up the ghost, and where is he?”

God in His Holy Word has told us all about the hereafter, that great unseen world, and man’s eternal experience after his days on earth are over.

My dear friend, if you have lost a loving companion, and you are lonely, sad, discouraged, almost desperate, do NOT seek solace in some Satanic delusion. Believe God’s Word. In that blessed Book, The Holy Bible, you can learn all about the present whereabouts of the dead, the whence and whither of the human race. However, if you reject the Bible, there is nothing but darkness, uncertainty and despair.

Thousands have been deceived in ancient and modern Spiritism. Satan can easily impersonate any relative, or lost loved one, by means of his evil spirits and deceive the soul of man. Do you remember what the Apostle Paul said to a sorcerer in his day? “O full of all subtlety and all mischief, thou child of the devil, thou enemy of all righteousness, wilt thou not cease to pervert the right ways of the LORD?” Acts 13:10.

Then, the Apostle Paul met another one, a woman, a soothsayer, our present day psychic or medium, possessed with the spirit of divination. He said to the evil spirit in her, “I command thee in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her, and he came out the same hour.”

Demon possession is a very common thing, in fact it is rampant, in religious circles today, even the worship of demons; but there is nothing new about it. Satan is still the same Satan, though he may change his tactics.

Many splendid people have seen and communed with others in the spirit world; but they have always been deceived by an evil spirit. The “others” were not spirits of people who had ever lived on earth. I am going to quote here several verses of Scripture so you can get God’s answer to this question:

“If a man die, shall he live again?” Job 14:14

“Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he, (Christ) also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the Devil”. Hebrews 2:14.

“But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honor; that he by the Grace of God should taste death for every man”. Hebrews 2:9.

“Who hath saved us, and called us with an Holy calling, not according to our works, but according to His own purpose and Grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began. But is now made manifest by the appearing of our Savior Jesus Christ, who hath abolished death, and hath brought life and immortality to light through the Gospel” 2 Timothy 1:9-10.

“I am He that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death”. Revelation 1:18.

“Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live”. John 11:25.

“And as they were afraid, and bowed down their faces to the earth, they said unto them, Why seek ye the living among the dead? He is not here, but is risen: remember how He spake unto you when He was yet in Galilee”. Luke 24:5-6.

“Behold, I see the heavens opened, and the Son of man standing on the right hand of God”. Acts 7:56.

“And they stoned Stephen, calling upon God, and saying, LORD Jesus, receive my spirit. And he kneeled down, and cried with a loud voice, LORD, lay not this sin to their charge. And when he had said this, he fell asleep.” Acts 7:59-60.

“We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the LORD”. 2 Cor. 5:8.

“For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive. But every man in his own order: Christ the first fruits; afterward they that are Christ’s at His coming”. 1 Corinthians 15:22-23.

Now we spoke of the message God has for each one of us in the story of the rich man and Lazarus. We quote these words of the One who conquered death and who is now seated at God’s right hand in heaven.

“There was a certain rich man, which was clothed in purple and fine linen, and fared sumptuously every day; and there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, which was laid at his gate, full of sores, and desiring to be fed with the crumbs which fell from the rich man’s table; moreover the dogs came and licked his sores.

And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham’s bosom; the rich man also died and was buried; and in hades he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom. And he cried and said, father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame.

But Abraham said, Son, remember that thou in thy life­time receivedst thy good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things: but now he is comforted, and thou art tormented. And beside all this, between us and you, there is a great gulf fixed; so that they which would pass from hence to you cannot; neither can they pass to us, which would come from thence.

Then he said, I pray thee therefore, father, that thou wouldest send him to my father’s house, for I have five brethren; that he may testify unto them, lest they also come into this place of torment.

Abraham said unto him, They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them. And he said, Nay, father Abraham: but if one went unto them from the dead, they will repent. And Abraham said unto him, If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from the dead”. Luke 16:19-31.

I want to call your attention to the statement of David concerning his little baby that had died, “But now he is dead, wherefore should I fast? Can I bring him back again? I shall go to him, but he shall not return to me”. 2 Samuel 12:23. God would teach His children by this verse that we can go to our loved ones who die, but they cannot come back to us.

Now, compare this statement of David with the statement in Hebrews 13:20, “The God of peace, that brought again from dead our LORD Jesus, that great Shepherd of the sheep.”

Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, He was buried, He was raised again the third day according to the Scriptures. He became the firstfruits of them that slept. And at His coming those who are His will receive resurrection bodies and thus be made alive.

Then, if we want to be sure that we shall be made alive at the coming of Christ, we must be sure that we are His. In order that you may see just what will take place when Jesus comes again we quote for you 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18.

“But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with Him. For this we say unto you by the Word of the LORD, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the LORD shall not precede them which are asleep.

For the LORD Himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the LORD in the air; and so shall we ever be with the LORD. Wherefore comfort one another with these words”.

Some of those who are to be Christ’s at His coming are those who have fallen asleep in Jesus; those who have died in The Faith. Mortality is the common heritage of all people. Only BELIEVERS have eternal life. Only those will have eternal life after death who have eternal life before death. Eternal life is the free gift of God. Jesus said “Verily, I say unto you, he that heareth My Word and believeth Him that sent Me, hath everlasting life and shall not come into judgment; but is passed from death to life”. John 5:24.

The Holy Spirit through the Apostle Paul said, “You hath He made alive who were dead in trespasses and sin.” Ephesians 2:1

All who belong to Christ are rejoicing in the hope of the glory of God; for Christ is in them, the hope of glory, “When Christ who is our life shall appear then shall ye also appear with Him in glory.”

When the believer, the member of the Body of Christ, passes from this life, his body goes to corruption, but his spirit goes immediately to be with the LORD Jesus in heaven, and there he remains in a conscious state, out of the realm of sin, and sorrow, and death, and sickness, and temptation, until Jesus Christ shall come back again. At that time, the time of the Rapture, when the LORD comes to be joined to His Body in the Air, that believer shall be clothed upon with his house which is from heaven, and in that incorruptible body he shall enjoy that inheritance incorruptible, undefiled, and that fadeth not away. Not only this, but at the same moment of this, every living believer on this earth will be caught up to meet Christ in the air. “And so shall we ever be with the LORD. Wherefore comfort one another with these words”.

However, when the UN-believer dies, his body likewise goes to corruption; but his soul goes to torment in hades, to remain absent from the body in a conscious state of torment until the resurrection of the unjust, AFTER the millennium, to be judged in the body at the Great White Throne judgment. And then to be banished into outer darkness to suffer the sorrow of the second death.

This is the plain teaching of God’s Word. So listen up...“And there shall in no wise enter into it anything that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb’s book of life” Revelation 21:27. “And whosoever was NOT found written in the book of life was cast into the Lake of Fire”. Revelation 20:15.

Hades is only the temporary abode of the wicked. The final doom is called the Lake which burneth with fire and brimstone, which is the second death. “The wages of sin is death.” “It is appointed unto men once to die and after this the judgment.”

“There is therefore NOW no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.” Romans 8:1

How true the words of the LORD, “If they believe not Moses and the prophets, they would not believe though one were raised from the dead.”

Remember this solemn warning of the LORD Jesus Christ: “For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall show great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.”

“Behold, I have told you before”. Matthew 24:24-25.

So There You Have it!

Please read Colossians 4:3-4; Ephesians 6:19-20; Ephesians 1:16-18; Ephesians 3:12-19; 2 Timothy 2:8-9; 2 Timothy 2:2, and Ephesians 3:9

The Apostle Paul was in the jail at Rome when he wrote Ephesians, Colossians, and 2 Timothy. He was the prisoner of Jesus Christ for the Gentiles. (Ephesians 3:1 and Ephesians 4:1). “According to MY Gospel, wherein I suffer trouble, as an evil doer, even unto bonds; but the Word of God is not bound.” (2 Timothy 2:9).

For a message which Paul called “MY Gospel,” he suffered as an imprisoned criminal. Note Paul’s testimony in Romans 16:25, “Now to Him that is of power to stablish you according to MY Gospel, and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the Mystery, which was kept secret since the world began.”

So we learn that Paul was in jail for telling God’s secret, which from the beginning of the world had been hid in God. (Ephesians 3:9).

Because it had been hid in God, and was God’s UN-prophesied, eternal purpose, Paul called the truth “the unsearchable riches of Christ.” (Ephesians 3:8-11). This word “unsearchable” is translated, in Romans 11:33. “past finding out.” The Greek root is “step” or “track.” It could NOT be traced through Israel’s Scriptures. AND…Because the Apostle Paul could not prove the Mystery by an appeal to Prophecy he got into plenty of trouble.

Now note the Apostle Paul’s earnest request for prayer in Colossians 4:3-4 and Ephesians 6:19-20, “Withal praying also for us, that God would OPEN UNTO US A DOOR of utterance, to speak ‘THE MYSTERY OF CHRIST’ for which I am also in bonds: That I may make it manifest, as I ought to speak.”, AND, “And for me, that utterance may be given unto me, that I may OPEN MY MOUTH boldly, to make known ‘THE MYSTERY OF THE GOSPEL,’ For which I am an ambassador in bonds; that therein I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.”

Here we have the LORD’s servant behind a prison door, yearning for open doors for the proclamation of the very message that landed him in jail. Did Paul want to get his fellow Christians in trouble? Well, he told Timothy not to be ashamed of him in jail and his LORD; but to tell others what Paul had taught him; to endure hardness as a good soldier of Christ, to be a partaker of the afflictions of the Gospel and be assured that he would suffer persecutions. (2 Timothy 1:8; 2 Timothy 2:2-3; 2 Timothy 3:12).

The Apostle Paul knew that Satan hated “THE MYSTERY” more than he hated any other message, because it had to do with, not only Satan, but with Satan’s principalities in the heavenlies also. It speaks of the unraveling and demise of the forces in the satanic realm. (Ephesians 3:10; Ephesians 6:11-14; Ephesians 1:19-23).

Now after 2000 years you might write on one sheet of paper all of the doors that have been prayed open for this glorious truth. No one is doing more to close the doors to this truth than are the so-called Fundamentalists, who CLAIM to be “Grace” pastors, preachers, and teachers. Because of their boycotts and persecutions mouths of today have also been closed, but none opened. So far, as they are concerned, the Apostle Paul suffered, (Colossians 1:24-26 and Colossians 4:3-4), in vain.

So tell me…How few Christians are praying for open doors and open mouths for this ministry, the Preaching and Teaching of the Mystery, which is truly the answer to every “ism” and “ill” with which the Body of Christ is afflicted? Are YOU??

How few Christians are praying the prayers of Ephesians 1:16-18 and Ephesians 3:12-19 for the Spirit of wisdom and revelation to have the eyes of their understanding enlightened to comprehend “the Dispensation of the Mystery,” to know the breadth, and length, and depth, and height of Ephesians 3:18, to know the Hope of God’s calling and the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints?

“In Whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of Him Who worketh all things after the counsel of His own will.” (Ephesians 1:11).

Let every member of the Body of Christ make up for lost time by diligently and continuously obeying Ephesians 3:9, “And to make all men see what is THE DISPENSATION OF THE MYSTERY.”

This is the Divine method. Let’s all fall in line with it. This glorious truth, TRUE Christianity, has been lost and covered up for centuries in the ecclesiastical, religious garbage known as “Christianity”. Let’s uncover or recover it. What do you say?

Let’s read in Mark 6:11 the solemn words of the LORD Jesus Christ, Who is going to be revealed in flaming fire for vengeance upon them who will not have Him as Savior, (2 Thessalonians 1:7-10), being assured that this awful judgment is rapidly approaching:

“And whosoever shall not receive you, nor hear you, when ye depart thence, shake off the dust under your feet for a testimony against them. Verily I say unto you, It shall be more tolerable for Sodom and Gomorrah in the day of judgment, than for that city.” (Mark 6:11).

Compare with this His awful pronouncement upon Capernaum in very much the same language. The LORD referred to the mighty works that He had done in their midst. According to historians, terrible destruction fell upon Capernaum; but the words meant more terrible judgment than the destruction of that Christ-rejecting city. (Hebrews 9:27). (Luke 10:13-15).

Let us compare Genesis 19:24-25 and 2 Peter 2:6, “Then the LORD rained upon Sodom and Gomorrah brimstone and fire from the LORD of heaven: And He overthrew those cities, and all the plain, and all the inhabitants of the cities, and that which grew upon the ground.”

A more terrible judgment than God’s upon Sodom and Gomorrah was pronounced upon the people, who would NOT HEAR and HEED the messages which Christ proclaimed by His messengers. That fire and brimstone destruction of Gomorrah was an example of the “fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.” Christ died to deliver us from God’s wrath to come. Read Hebrews 10:29-32; 1 Thessalo­nians 1:9-10. Then read 2 Peter 2:6 with 2 Thessalonians 1:7-10.

Why more tolerable for Sodom and Gomorrah? Sodom and Gomorrah DID NOT have a visit from the incarnate God, the LORD Jesus Christ. Sodom and Gomorrah DID NOT see the mighty works of the Son of God and hear Him speak as never man spoke. Think of it…the people of Sodom and Gomorrah were destroyed about 1900 B.C., and that was more than 500 years before Moses was directed to write Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers and Deuteronomy, the first five Books of the Bible. Sodom and Gomorrah DID NOT have God’s written revelation. They had the revelation of God in Creation (Romans 1:18-30). They had the law written in their hearts. (Romans 2:15). NOW, just imagine the people of the United States without a line of the Bible and never having heard of Christ, His teaching, death and resurrection.

Surely Lot’s testimony to Sodom and Gomorrah was about worthless. What other prophets did they have? Compare the spiritual privileges and spiritual opportunities of the United States with those of Sodom and Gomorrah.

If Sodom and Gomorrah was without excuse (Romans 1:20), just think of how much LESS excuse the inhabitants of Capernaum and Jerusalem after 4000 years of God’s dealings with man.

Capernaum and Jerusalem had the thirty-nine inspired Books, the Holy Scriptures, and then a visit of their own Divine; eternal Jehovah, Who proved by fulfilling the Scriptures and by miracles, signs and wonders, and by speaking as never man spake, His unity and equality with God. He proved to His friends that He was Israel’s promised Messiah. Sodom and Gomorrah had little Divine light compared with Israel in the days of Christ.

Note what Christ declared by the Apostle Paul some years later, “And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men everywhere to repent.” Acts 17:30. Compare this with Hebrews 10:28-33.

There is coming the most terrible judgment this earth has ever known. (Matthew 24:21-24).

So now…the United States has ALL that Capernaum had and also the complete revelation of God in the Bible, the LORD Jesus being preached for over 2000 years, and in this country think of the Gospel by radio, TV, the internet, and even the Bill of Rights.

No nation has ever been blessed with such spiritual privileges and opportunities as has this country, the United States of America. It will be less tolerable for the people who live in the United States in the day of God’s wrath than for the inhabitants of Sodom or Capernaum.

So, WAKE UP! You STUPID sinners and SLEEPING saints! The time is short…

“You Can Get With This, or You Can Get With That!”

Greetings Kingdom Citizens,

Lets look quickly at a verse of scripture that simply reveals so much as to what we have available to all those who believe in Jesus our Lord and King.

 The title of this lesson was carefully and purposefully chosen.  The urban tone is to the point and that is how this lesson will be taught.  It you would please  allow my anointing to teach bring out the relevance of this topic, you will see the power of choice laid out before you from God.

“The word which God sent unto the children of Israel, preaching peace by Jesus Christ: (he is Lord of all:) That word, I say, ye know, which was published throughout all Judaea, and began from Galilee, after the baptism which John preached; How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.” Acts 10:36-38

The portion of scripture I am focusing on is "How God anointed Jesusof Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and power so Jesus went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil because God was with him” part. When you want to decide whether you want to be with Jesus or not you should look to this fact. That Word which Jesus preached started after He was baptized and anointed by the Holy Ghost. That Word is The Word spoken about in John 1. You know, “In the beginning was The Word?” The Beginning started right when He was baptized and anointed. This is the Word Jesus spoke: that He was anointed and that the Kingdom of God is here.

He preached the gospel of The Kingdom everywhere He went and that He had the anointing to back it up. How did God anoint Jesuswith the Holy Ghost and power? We need to understand this in order to allow our mind to get into kingdom thinking and become upgraded from members of churches to citizens! How did God anoint Jesus with the Holy Ghost? He did it by faith. Jesus was obedient to the Word God spoke to Him and by acting out His faith the power and the Spirit became available and remained on Him. Faith is expressed by Words from God and received by us and in this case, by Jesus Himself.

Then answered Jesus and said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you,The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do: for what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise. For the Father loveth the Son, and sheweth him all things that himself doeth: and he will shew him greater works than these, that ye may marvel. For as the Father raiseth up the dead, and quickeneth them; even so the Son quickeneth whom he will. For the Father loveth the Son, and sheweth him all things that himself doeth: and he will shew him greater works than these, that ye may marvel. For as the Father raiseth up the dead, and quickeneth them; even so the Son quickeneth whom he will. John 5:19-21

The word “showeth” in Greek means “to show by words or teach!”

With this in mind, hear the Lord speak again. Jesus is saying that His Father reveals to Him by words and teaches  Him how to do what He does so that we can see what is available in the kingdom of God. Jesus was using His faith to believe the Words from His Father and did what His father taught Him. Then Jesus said that the works He did we will do and greater works than those because He was going to the father and sending the Holy Ghost to us to speak words to be obeyed just like Jesus Himself!

 So you can get with THIS revelation of how God has anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost, or you can get with THAT information of trying to meet your needs without God and do things your way.

Not convinced yet? Lets look at Hebrews 1: Lets see How God anointedJesus after He died and went to hell.

"For unto which of the angels said he at any time, Thou art my Son, thisday have I begotten thee? And again, I will be to him a Father, and he shall be to me a Son? And again, when he bringeth in the first begotten into the world, he saith, And let all the angels of Godworship him. And of the angels he saith, Who maketh his angels spirits, and his ministers a flame of fire. But unto the Son he saith, Thy throne, OGod, is for ever and ever: a sceptre of righteousness is the sceptre of thy kingdom. Thou hast loved righteousness, and hated iniquity; therefore God, even thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows." Hebrews1:5-9

Here in Hebrews it says that “and again” when He bringeth in the firstbegotten into the world he said 'Let All The Angels Worship Him!!' Wow, did you hear that? You will totally miss that if you don't catch the phrase “and again.”  Let me help you here concerning the Word 'begotten.'

This word means 'metaph' "to engender, cause to arise, excite!"

 Now understand this verse again for the first time. You have to ask yourself when is it that again God speaks to His Son to confer blessings upon Him? When He lost His fellowship with His Son while He was in Hell. Now let us answer the question at hand. How did God anoint Jesus when He was in Hell? The answer lies in the blessing conferred upon Jesus in verse nine. “Therefore God, even thy God,hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows!” God spoke to the regions of the universe that all angels are to worship Him (this includes demons.)

There is no way satan wanted this guy in hell with all this power spoken over Him by God. Jesus was raised (begotten) by the Father with Words of Blessing and when God speaks it is done my brother, my sister. God said that His scepter (rule of authority) will be Gods way of doing things in the kingdom. This is most powerful to the believer because when we hear our Master talk, He will be giving us the Words of the Kingdom and how it operates.

Now you can get with THIS Word of Blessing on our Lord and Savior JesusChrist or you can get with THAT way of doing things on your own power and steam. You can get with THIS power over satan and all the ability of the devil, or you can get with THAT way of bondage to the flesh and and the lust thereof. You can get with THIS covenant, commonwealth, promise, and The Anointing, or you can get with THAT absence of the covenant, foreign to the citizenship of heaven, and being without God in this world. You can get with THIS righteousness,health, and prosperity, or you can get with THAT sin, sickness, and poverty.  It really is your choice. The Blessing is to EVERYONE but it is only on the BELIEVER.

I trust that this Word of Faith message has been a blessing to you, and may you glean from it continually. Pass it on to those you know canbenefit from it to increase your harvest of hope:-)

Grace to you and peace from the Most High be multiplied to you through the Blessing that comes from Jesus our King.

Last month we looked at the subject of what I call faith add-ons. Faith add-ons are spiritual fruit to add to your faith walk in God's Word. We looked at virtue and knowledge last time so we will pick up from the root scripture in 2 Peter.

 

"For this very reason, adding your diligence [to the divine promises], employ every effort in exercising your faith to develop virtue (excellence, resolution, Christian energy and courage), and in [exercising] virtue [develop] knowledge (intelligence), and in [exercising] knowledge [develop] self-control (meekness), and in [exercising] self-control [develop] steadfastness (patience, endurance), and in [exercising] steadfastness [develop] godliness (piety)" 2 Peter 1:5-6 (Words not in bold added)

 

Peter teaches us to add to our knowledge (revelation knowledge) temperance. In the Greek dictionary the word temperance is actually self-control. Once we get a revelation from God we usually get so fired up about it that there can be a tendency to try to get ahead of God. Jesus said that the kingdom of God works like the process of the seed. First the blade, then the ear, and after that the full corn in the ear. If we choose to skip any one of these steps we can enter levels that our faith cannot sustain because of a lack of maturity of how the process works. 

 

I witness this all the time where prosperity is concerned. Jesus said when the Word of the kingdom is sown, and we fail to understand it we place ourselves in a place where the wicked one can snatch away the seed that was sown. When people get a revelation of prosperity and the Blessing, they get all excited and try to rush the process of wealth transferring to wealth building. Jesus talked about the deceitfulness of riches and the lust of other things entering in and choking the Word sown in the heart. These people become prey to get rich schemes and wealth investment portfolio scams. They didn't want to wait on the blade and the ear of the corn, let alone wait for the full ear. They seemed to have missed our Lord declare hundred fold now in this time to those who give for the gospel and to the work in His name. 

 

The Word says to be anxious for nothing but through prayer and supplication let your request be made know unto God. The way God does things is to send His Word of Promise in the Earth through Apostles, Prophets, Evangelist, Pastors and Teachers. Wherever God can find someone using their faith for any of His promises He says that the Eyes of The Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth to show Himself strong on behalf of those whose heart is loyal to Him. 2 Chron 16:9 

 

Self control can allow patience to have her perfect work. Peter said that self control and patience are partners in the walk of faith. They are indispensable to each other. You need self discipline when you are expecting Gods glory to show up in your life. James said;

 

"My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations;

Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience. But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing. If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord. A double minded man is unstable in all his ways." James 1:2-8 

 

Patience is defined as the state of constant, steady, sustaining perseverance. James said that this is the way to receiving anything from the Lord. How important then is this virtue? Enormous that's what. Once there is a trying of your faith you had better know to exercise your patience otherwise you will fall into anxiety which can lead to depression. The children of Israel grieved God and Paul declares that their attitude was an evil heart of unbelief because they failed to stand through the adversity they were facing.

 

When your fathers tempted me, proved me, and saw my works forty years. Wherefore I was grieved with that generation, and said, They do always err in their heart; and they have not known my ways. So I sware in my wrath, They shall not enter into my rest.) Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God. But exhort one another daily, while it is called To day; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin. Hebrews 3:10-13

 

They could not enter into the rest of prosperity because they saw the conditions and complained. They had an evil heart of unbelief, and Paul tells us to take heed least we fall to the same temptation. We can be like them where our faith is concerned. They heard the Word yet they did not mix the Word with faith. Let us not be like that. Let us be wise enough to know that God's way of faith is best. Would God give a promise only to not fulfill it? Allow yourself to be teachable and be constant, steady with sustaining perseverance. We can do this, indeed we must do this!

 

I fully expect this Word of Faith message to bless you to do His will as He works in you that which is well pleasing to His sight!

Now if there’s a smile on my face, it’s only there trying to fool the public, 
But when it comes down to fooling you, now honey, that’s quite a different subject.

Like a clown I appear to be glad.
Now there’s some sad things known to man, 
but ain’t too much sadder than the tears of a clown, 
when there’s no one around.

These were the words I heard while riding in the car with my daughter one day. And as I sat there and forced myself to listen, the Holy Ghost grabbed me and spoke this in my spirit…

Many of you know that I am an active face-booker. Yea, I admit, I like it. I have my farm and my restaurant and my apartment and I try to keep it up to date, but for the most part it affords me the opportunity to be a witness to share Jesus and His love with anyone with an open heart. And I am so grateful for the tremendous ways that God continues to show Himself through it all.

But anyway, just a couple of days before I heard this song, I saw a post to pray for Sis. So and So, because she had attempted suicide. And immediately I began to pray for her and even posted a prayer for others to stand in agreement with me. A day or so later, someone posted that she was okay and thanked everyone for their prayers. Bless God!

I wondered what would have made this person want to kill herself. What could have been so bad, (she thought), would want to make her take her life. She had always been one who had posted Scriptures, words of encouragement and even videos to try and encourage someone else. And here she was in so much pain herself that she wanted to die. And I remember thinking and asking the Lord, why? What in the world, Lord? She’s an encourager. And that’s when it was revealed to me because then I heard this song, “Tears of A Clown.” 

It’s a song by Smokey Robinson and the Miracles sang way back in, 1970??? And as I listened the words began to minister to me. Just like a clown, people can appear to be smiling, appear to have it all together, appear to have it all under control, but in a lonely room they cry the tears of a clown. A clown makes people laugh. They make people smile. That’s what they do. And they wear these painted smiles on their faces because no matter what, they know what they are called to do and know that they can’t cheer someone else up if they themselves are not cheerful. SO they put on this face that they are, but deep down inside, things can be hurting them. That no one knows about or sees. And that is what happened with this person. They are an encourager. God called them to be so. It’s a gift that He placed in them. But in order that they may carry it out, they sometimes have to put on a face that all is well with their world. Because they know that God is yet good, but somewhere between relaying to others and applying for themselves it gets distorted and they end up sad inside. Even if just for a little while.

And God made me realize this…. Yes, sometimes we’ve got to encourage ourselves. And someone who has the gift of encouragement knows that all too well, and they do it most of the time. But there are times where THEY need encouragement. They put so much of themselves, so much energy, so much time (often), to encourage someone else. To pray for someone else that they may be strengthened, that sometimes they can drain themselves and have nothing left, and end up in a place they should not be. God said be aware of that. 

We have people all around us (hopefully) who are always trying to encourage someone. You have people that you know that you know that you know, that if you called on them at any given time, they would pray for you, they would have a word that would speak life to you; they would have an answer to your problem. God said take note of them. Pray for them. Give THEM a word of encouragement every now and then. It doesn’t take a lot. Acknowledge what they do and just say thank you for encouraging me today.

“Just like Pagliacci did
I try to keep my surface hid
Smiling in the public eye
but in the lonely room I cry
the tears of a clown
when there's no one around.”

Keep that in mind the next time you see or hear a word of encouragement from someone. They may be hurting on the inside and crying when there’s no one around, the tears of a clown.

God is good. And I was just brought to tears at the goodness and the realness of God. Who can use a simple song to reach us wherever we are.
